SPOTLIGHT: Stacy Dunlap

At Penn State University Police and Public Safety, Stacy Dunlap strives to ensure that police officers at campuses across Pennsylvania have what they need, when they need it.

As quartermaster inventory control and distribution specialist, Dunlap distributes required equipment to each and every officer.  This includes appropriate vesting, uniforms, duty belts, riot gear, and side arms.

Recently, Dunlap distributed rifles and gun safes to campus police stations for storing department weapons. Her job relies on finding a balance between functionality while remaining budget-friendly.

“It’s most rewarding working alongside the officers and feeling confident they are equipped to handle any situation while performing their duties,” Dunlap said.

Dunlap has had a long career in inventory and logistical supply. She served as an Army reservist and National Guard for nine years, following her supply sheds training in Germany.

In the military, Stacy assumed the role of 92 Alpha, a position known as an automated logistical supply specialist, at an airborne unit in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Outside of work, Dunlap spends much of her free time with her husband of 15 years and her two sons. When asked how she spends her free time, Dunlap chuckled and noted how much of her spare time is dedicated to her children and their extracurricular actives.

Dunlap finds herself most relaxed at home, with a good book by the fireplace, with her family and dog Cletus. Where she can immerse herself in watching wildlife on her property.  - Raegan Pechar
