The purpose of the Crime Alert program is to provide community members with updated information on crimes. University Police will post the Crime Alert posters around campus to inform the community that a crime has occurred and is as of yet, unsolved.

If you have any information that might be helpful in this investigation, contact the University Police by telephone at (814) 863-1111; in person at 26 Eisenhower Parking Deck; or if you wish, anonymously through "Silent Witness", or complete an online form about any of the crimes.

You can also report information relevant to a crime by calling Centre County Crime Stoppers at 877-99-CRIME, a crime apprehension and prevention network. A cash reward of up to $1,000 could be awarded to the individual(s) that provide information that leads to an arrest. Callers may remain anonymous.

2/15/13 Theft
Penn State University Police are investigating two incidents of theft at Osborn Hall. The first incident occurred sometime between midnight on February 14, 2013 and midnight on February 15, 2013. Unknown person(s) removed a bike seat and post from the victim’s bicycle. The second incident occurred sometime between 11:00 p.m. on February 18, 2013 and 7:00 a.m. on February 19, 2013. Unknown person(s) removed the victim’s secured bicycle.

2/9/13 Jordan Hall Criminal Mischief/Attempted Burglary
Penn State University Police are investigating an incident of criminal mischief and attempted burglary at Jordan Hall. On February 9, 2013 sometime between 3:40 a.m. and 3:44 a.m. unknown person(s) broke a window and attempted to enter a residence.

1/28/13 Brumbaugh and Shunk Hall Criminal Mischief
Penn State University Police are investigating two racially motivated Criminal Mischief incidents at Brumbaugh and Shunk Halls. The incident in Brumbaugh Hall occurred sometime between January 28, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Unknown person(s) spray painted a racially motivated message in a stairwell. The incident in Shunk Hall occurred sometime between January 28, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. and January 29, 2013 at 12:15 a.m. Unknown person(s) used a permanent marker to write a racially motivated message on a bulletin board.

1/5/13 Intramural Building Theft
The Penn State University Police are attempting to identify the two individuals in the pictures below. They are suspects in several thefts of personal property from the IM Building on Penn State University Campus.

12/21/2012 Construction Equipment Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft from a construction site north of Nittany Apartments sometime between 3:30 p.m. on December 21, 2012 and 8:30 a.m. on December 24, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole a generator and other miscellaneous construction equipment valued at $3,700.

11/26/12 Thomas Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are attempting to identify the male pictured below in relation to a theft which occurred in the Thomas Building on November 26, 2012 between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Two computers and a set of headphones with an estimated value of $1232 were removed from an unsecured office.


10/30/12 Packer Hall Criminal Mischief
University Police are investigating a report of Criminal Mischief which occurred between 11:30 p.m. on October 30, 2012 and 8:00 a.m. on October 31, 2012 in an elevator in Packer Hall. Unknown individual(s) created a hazardous condition by filling the elevator full of newspaper. The loss is valued at $100.

10/27/12 Aggravated Assault
An aggravated assault was reported to have occurred near the intersection of College Avenue and Atherton Street in the borough of State College at approximately 2:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012. The victim, a student, was walking at the above location when he was struck once in the face which rendered him unconscious. The victim was unable to provide any information on the suspect(s).

10/26/12 East Halls Suspicious Activity
University Police are investigating several incidents in which the unknown male pictured below has entered an East Halls Residence Hall via “piggybacking” – following a resident in the door.

10/25/12 Wolf Hall Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred in Wolf Hall sometime between 9:30 p.m. on October 25, 2012 and 3:30 a.m. on October 26, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole cash, jewelry, a watch, a wallet and an IPod. The value of the stolen items is over $1000.

10/22/12 White Building Theft/Attempt to Identify
The Penn State University Police are attempting to identify the male pictured below. The male was observed removing items belonging to another from a locker in the White Building on October 22, 2012.

9/30/12 Stephens Hall Burglary /Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Stephens Hall between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012. Unknown person(s) removed two laptop computers, a cell phone and a wallet. The estimated loss is $4,500.

9/25/12 West Halls Quad Disorderly Conduct
University Police are investigating an incident of Disorderly Conduct which occurred on September 25, 2012 at approximately 12:22 a.m. in the West Halls Quad Area. Unknown person(s) placed household items in a plastic bottle which created an explosion. No injuries or damages were reported due to the explosion. These acts are illegal and have the potential to cause serious injury. Anyone with information regarding this incident or similar behavior should contact University Police.

08/27/12 Hibbs Hall Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred in Hibbs Hall sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole a watch valued at $150.

8/27/12 Harassment / Disorderly Conduct
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a harassment incident which occurred near Pattee Library between 11:45 a.m - 11:53 a.m. on August 27, 2012. An Asian male, believed to be in his early forties wearing a light colored hat and orange t-shirt approached a female and verbally assaulted victim and physically grabbed the victim's wrist as she tried to get away from the situation.

8/26/12 Sexual Assault
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2012, the Penn State University Police and Public Safety Department received a report of asexual assault that had allegedly occurred on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in the afternoon in a residence hall on campus. The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male known to her, who is described as a 30 year old, white male with brown hair and blue eyes. The suspect has been identified. The incident remains under investigation.

8/24/12 Porter Road Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating two incidents of criminal mischief which occurred at parking lot 25 along Porter Road. The first incident occurred between August 24 at 12:00 a.m. and August 27 at 10:45 a.m. while the second incident occurred between September 4 at 2:30 p.m. and September 5 at 2:00 p.m. Unknown persons created deep circular ruts in the grass area causing damage. The total value of the damage is estimated at $2,000.

7/8/12 Hetzel Union Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred at the Hetzel Union Building - Robeson Cultural Center sometime between 1:00 a.m. on July 8, 2012 and 2:00 a.m. on July 9, 2012. Unknown person(s) removed a frame which contained one gold Olympic medal and one silver Olympic medal from a display case. The medals are inscribed with "London" "1948" on the back with an estimated value of $300.

7/5/12 Theft/Access Device Fraud/Attempt to Identify
University Police are attempting to identify the male pictured below. The male was observed utilizing a stolen Penn State Student Identification Card to make purchases at several State College establishments on November 12, 2011.

7/4/12 South Halls Sexual Assault
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a sexual assault which occurred in a residence Hall in South Halls sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on July 4, 2012. Known and unknown persons sexually assaulted a student within the residence hall. The suspects are described as college-aged African American males. One suspect is described to be wearing a red baseball cap, striped tank top and athletic shorts.

5/31/12 Forum Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft incident which occurred at the Forum Building sometime between May 31, 2012 and June 5, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole forty plants from four separate concrete planters located at the exterior of the building. The value of the stolen items is $160.

4/14/12 Pinchot Hall Burglary/Theft/Attempt to Identify
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating multiple thefts which occurred in Pinchot Hall sometime between 1:00 a.m. on April 14, 2012 and 1:30 p.m. on April 15, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole multiple wallets and their contents valued at a total of over $1,350. A witness described the actor as a white male, approximately 6' tall, with short "dirty blond" hair, thin build, wearing a light gray colored baseball cap on backwards a light colored gray hoodie and dark colored sweatpants. In October of 2011, University Police investigated similar incidents involving the unknown male pictured below and believe the cases may be linked. If you have any information regarding the thefts in Pinchot Hall or to the identity of the male below, please contact University Police immediately.

4/7/2012 McElwain Hall Criminal Mischief
University Police are investigating a report of Criminal Mischief having occurred on April 7, 2012, at approximately 2:45 a.m., in the northwest stairwell of McElwain Hall. A male actor broke three window panes, one on the second floor and two on the third floor, causing over $300 in damages. The male was observed wearing a gray hoodie and ran from the scene. Please contact University Police if you have any information pertaining to the identity of this individual.

3/2/12 Nittany Apartments Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a report of burglary, which occurred sometime over the week of Spring Break, March 2, 2012 until March 10, 2012, to a second floor apartment in Nittany Apartments. Unknown person(s) entered the apartment through a second story window causing approximately $200 in damages. The theft of personal property is also alleged to have occurred and under investigation.

CASE SOLVED2/28/12 Beaver Stadium Attempt to Identify/Criminal Mischief/Theft
University Police are attempting to identify the vehicle shown in the photos below. The vehicle is a gray or silver 2001 Toyota Camry with after-market hubcaps. The vehicle should have substantial damage to the passenger side front and rear door, be missing the front passenger side hub cab, as well as have damage to the front bumper. The vehicle was seen damaging property around Beaver Stadium on February 28, 2012 at approximately 4:15 a.m.. The driver of the vehicle also damaged two signs posted around the stadium and stole one of them after damaging it. Please contact University Police if you have any information pertaining to the identity of this vehicle and/or the driver.

2/17/12 Suspicious Activity
University Police are investigating several incidents in which an unknown male contacted multiple female students offering them $500 Victoria's Secret gift cards. The male would refuse to identify himself and would also request to meet the students in person. If you have experienced similar activity, please contact University Police.

1/28/12 Chemistry Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Chemistry Building sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 02:00 p.m. on January 28, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole an Apple Macbook laptop computer and power cord valued at approximately $1,040 from room 317C.

1/25/12 Snyder Hall Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Snyder Hall sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on January 25, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole a tan wallet and its contents valued at a total of $85.

1/24/12 Paterno Library Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred on the fifth floor of Paterno Library sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on January 24, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole an Apple computer valued at approximately $1,000. The computer has both American and Chinese letters on the keyboard. A possible suspect is described as a "very tall" white male, approximately 25 to 30 years of age, having facial hair and wearing a gray coat.

1/19/12 Carpenter Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Carpenter Building sometime between 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on January 19, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole a wallet containing approximately $200 from an office.

1/14/2012 Redifer Commons/Hoyt Hall Breezeway Robbery/Simple Assault
University Police are investigating a robbery/simple assault that occurred on January 14, 2012 at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the glass breezeway between Redifer Commons and Hoyt Hall. The victim was a delivery driver. There are a total of four suspects, two of which were directly involved. The first suspect grabbed the victim's wallet from his hand. The second suspect threw the victim to the ground. The first suspect was last seen leaving the area in a yellow taxicab westbound on College Avenue.

Suspect one is described as a college age, black male, approximately 5'8" with a thin build and shoulder length thin dreadlocks. He was wearing dark pants, tan boots and a dark hooded sweatshirt. The sweatshirt had a yellow design on the left chest and a yellow number three (3) on the right sleeve.

Suspect two is described as a college age, lighter skinned, black male approximately 6'2"- 6'8" with a muscular build, short close cropped hair and no facial hair. He was wearing tan cargo style pants and a plain grey hooded sweatshirt.

1/6/12 Borland Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Borland Building sometime between 11:15 a.m. on January 6, 2012 and 2:00 p.m. on January 12, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole three computer monitors and a monitor grip pen valued at a total of $3,800.

CASE SOLVED 1/3/12 Weston Community Center Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft incident which occurred in Weston Community Center sometime between January 3, 2012 and March 12, 2012. Unknown person(s) stole a black Canon Rebel camera. The value of the stolen item is $600.

12/16/11 Pollock Road Harassment/Disorderly Conduct
University Police are investigating a report of Harassment/Disorderly Conduct that occurred on December 16, 2011 at approximately 10:00 a.m. A female exited a CATA bus on Pollock Road at the Millennium Science Building when a male exited the bus and followed her, placing his arm around her shoulder asking her if she wanted to "hang out". The suspect continued to walk with the victim until she reached Redifer Commons. The suspect is described as a Middle-Eastern or Indian male with a dark complexion, in his early 20s, with light brown eyes and thick black hair. He was wearing a black and grey sweater and jeans. The suspect is approximately six (6') feet tall with an average weight and build. A composite of the suspect is below:

11/19/11 Pinchot Hall Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating criminal mischief incidents that occurred at Pinchot Hall, sometime between November 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. and November 28, 2011 at 11:45 a.m. and again on December 3, 2011 at 11:00 p.m. and December 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Unknown person(s) used a BB gun or air soft gun to damage the glass in two windows on the ninth floor and another window on the tenthfloor. The total value of the damage is estimated at $250.

11/18/11 Rider Building Parking Lot Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at the Red V parking lot under the Rider Building, at approximately 9:00 p.m. on November 18, 2011. The persons shown below used metal conduit to damage two vehicles and urinate on another. The total value of the damage is estimated at $2,000. The suspect's vehicle is also shown below:

11/8/11 Nittany Apartments Robbery/Theft
On November 8, 2011, the Penn State University Police received an anonymous report of a robbery that occurred on November 7, 2011 at 9 p.m. in the area of the Nittany Apartments Complex. A male, known to the victim, took property from the apartment and,when confronted, displayed a handgun. The suspect fled the scene.

11/1/11 Curtin Hall Attempt to Identify

10/30/11 Burglary/Theft
Between 1:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on October 30, 2011, unknown actor(s) removed property from unsecured rooms in Curtin, Pennypacker and McKean Halls.

10/27/11 Pinchot Hall Burglary/Theft
Between 11:00 p.m. on October 27, 2011 and 8:00 a.m. on October 28, 2011, an unknown actor entered several rooms on every floor of Pinchot Hall and removed personal property. There have been similar cases in Sproul Hall. The actor is described as a white male, thin build and approximately 5'8" – 5'10" in height with short, light colored hair. The male was wearing a white hoodie and perhaps had a green backpack.

10/20/11 Thompson Hall Simple Assault
University Police are investigating a simple assault that occurred on October 20, 2011 at 10:55 p.m. in Thompson Hall. An unidentified male struck a female student as she was exiting Thompson Hall. After the assault he immediately left the building. The suspect is described as a college-age, black male, approximately 5'8" with a thin build, wearing dark jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt. 10/8/11 Ritner Hall Indecent Activity
University Police is investigating a report of indecent activity, which occurred in Ritner Hall on October 8, 2011 at approximately 3:00 a.m. The victim was using the shower in the restroom when a male exited a toilet stall and exposed himself to them. The suspect did not say anything during the incident, exited the restroom and left the area. The suspect is described as a college-aged male with a medium complexion; possibly Indian or Middle Eastern with short black hair. The suspect is approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with an average weight and build. He was last seen wearing silver, black and red Nike tennis shoes, blue jeans and a long sleeve blue and white shirt.

10/7/2011 Wolf Hall Indecent Activity
University Police is investigating a report of indecent activity, which occurred in Wolf Hall on October 7, 2011 at approximately 2:00 a.m. The victims were at the sink in the restroom when a male exited a toilet stall and exposed himself to them. The suspect did not say anything during the incident, exited the restroom and left the area. The suspect is described as a college-aged male with a medium complexion; possibly Indian or Middle Eastern with short black hair. The suspect is approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with an average weight and build. He was last seen wearing silver, black and red Nike tennis shoes and blue jeans with a dark colored t-shirt.

10/6/11 Nittany Lion Shrine Armed Robbery
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at the Nittany Lion Shrine on October 6, 2011 at approximately 10:06 p.m. The two victims were taking pictures at the Nittany Lion Shrine when they were approached by two suspects. The victims were forced to the ground and pocket searched for money. It is believed one of the males had a gun. The victims did not have cash but the suspects took two cell phones, a camera and jewelry. The suspects were last seen running north toward the Nittany Lion Inn. The suspects are described as dark skinned African American males wearing dark sweatshirts and jeans. The first suspect is described as approximately 6'0" with a slender build wearing a dark baseball cap which he was wearing backwards, and a dark lanyard hanging from his left front pants pocket. The second suspect who believed held a gun, is described as 5'9" to 5'11" with a stocky build and with what could be a mustache.

8/27/11 Rec Hall Theft
A staff member reported a megaphone was removed from Recreation Hall. The incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. on August 27, 2011. The total value of the loss is estimated at $120.

8/26/11 Osmond Lab Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred at Osmond Lab, sometime between August 26, 2011 at 1:40 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Unknown person(s) entered a secured office and removed two laptop computers, a black backpack, a laptop bag, a cell phone and a passport. The total value of the items taken is $875.

8/25/11 White Building Theft
A student reported the theft of his wallet from the White Building. The incident occurred August 25, 2011 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. The total value of loss is estimated at $70.

8/25/11 Intramural Building Theft
A staff member reported the theft of their cellular telephone and cash from an unsecured locker at the Intramural Building. The incident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on, August 25, 2011. The total value of loss is estimated at $860.

8/24/11 Brumbaugh Hall Assault
On August 24, 2011 between 12:30 p.m. and 12:57 p.m., two unidentified males approached a male in Brumbaugh Hall and struck him several times. The males then fled the area. The composite of the suspects are below:
  

8/22/11 White Building Theft
A student reported the theft of cash from a locker at the White Building. The incident occurred on August 22, 2011 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The total value of loss is estimated at $100.

8/18/11 Centre County Visitors Center Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred at the Centre County Visitors Center sometime between August 18, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. and August 22, 2011 at 6:30 a.m. Unknown person(s) stole a Ridgid Propress plumbing tool valued at $1,000.

8/12/11 Agricultural Administration Building and Agricultural, Science and Industries Building (ASI) Theft/Burglary
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating two separate incidents at The Agricultural Administration Building and the Agricultural, Science and Industries Building (ASI) between August 12, 2011 and August 13, 2011. Police are seeking information pertaining to these incidents as well as assistance with identifying a possible suspect.

A male with medium skin-tone, approximately 5'7 - 5'8 wearing a black t-shirt, a bandana covering his head, entered several offices within Ag. Administration Building and ASI Building between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on August 12, 2011 and removed wallets and purses from unoccupied/unsecured offices. Approximately $500.00 in cash has been stolen.

Unknown persons entered Agricultural, Science and Industries Building on August 13, 2011 between 4:00 a.m. and 12 noon. During this time, several offices were forcibly entered and items removed to include laptop computers and cash. The exact value is unknown at this time.
  

7/8/11 McCoy Natatorium Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred at the McCoy Natatorium sometime between July 8, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.and July 10, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.. Unknown person(s) removed two banners. One of the banners said "gopsusports.com" and the other said "Penn State Swimming and Diving." The banners are valued at $425.00.

6/30/11 Hetzel Union Building Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred at the Hetzel Union Building, main floor, sometime between June 30, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. and July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Unknown person(s) removed a black and white photograph from the gallery wall.

CASE SOLVED - UNFOUNDED6/21/11 Pollock Commons Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft which occurred at Pollock Commons sometime between June 21, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. and June 22, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. Unknown person(s) removed two 5' x 8' x 1' steel plates that were located on the ground near the south side loading dock. The steel plates are valued at $1,000.

5/2/11 Simple Assault - Nittany Parking Deck
On May 2, 2011 between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., an unidentified male approached a female in the area of the Nittany Parking Deck and Rackley Building. The male, described as Caucasian, approximately 5'7"- 5'8", with a slim build, approached the female insulting her ethnicity and grabbing her arms and clothing. The male fled the area without further injury. The male was last seen wearing a black football jersey and a dark baseball cap. If you have any information or were in the area of the Nittany Parking Deck/Rackley Building between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., notify police immediately. The composite of the suspect is below:

4/30/11 Indecent Exposure – Geary Hall
On April 20, 2011 at approximately 2:30 a.m., an unidentified naked male entered an unsecured female residence hall room in Geary Hall. The male is described as a college-aged white male with short brown hair. At the time of the incident, the male was not wearing glasses, did not have facial hair or any other identifying features. The male left the room after told by the resident to leave. The male fled in an unknown direction. A composite of the suspect is below:

4/29/11 Patterson Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Patterson Building on April 29, 2011 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Unknown person(s) stole a laptop computer valued at $1,500.

3/24/11 Deike and Hosler Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating two burglary/theft incidents which occurred in Deike and Hosler Building sometime between March 24, 2011, 12:00 p.m. and March 29, 2011, 4:35 p.m.. Unknown person(s) stole two laptop computers and a power pack. The value of the stolen items is $2,600.

2/26/11: Bigler Hall Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a burglary/theft that occurred in Bigler Hall sometime between February 26, 2011, 1:30 p.m. and February 27, 2011, 3:00 a.m. Unknown person(s) removed two unattended laptop computers from a room on the 1st floor of Bigler Hall. The laptops are valued at $2,700. The individual pictured is believed to have information concerning this burglary/theft. The individual is described as an African American male, 20 – 25 years of age, approximately 6'3" – 6'4" with a slender build.

2/06/11: Hiester Hall Criminal Mischief

3/2/10: Brumbaugh Hall Indecent Exposure
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an indecent exposure incident that occurred at about 10:46 p.m. on March 3 in Brumbaugh Hall. A masked male exposed himself to a female resident in a women's bathroom. He is described as approximately 6'1", with a skinny build, and dark eyes. The mask may be made of neoprene and has eye and mouth holes. The male was shirtless and wearing jeans. He ran to the stairway after the exposure.

CASE PROVED FALSE 3/1/10: Lubert Building Rape/Aggravated Assault/Terroristic Threats/False Imprisonment
University Police is investigating a rape that occurred on a snow bank to the north of Lubert Building on March 3 at approximately 8:30 p.m. The victim was attempting to assist what she believed to be a disabled motorist who then forced her to the ground and raped her. The suspect was last seen driving away from the parking lot in a dark colored SUV, similar to a Ford Expedition, with a Pennsylvania registration. The suspect is described as a middle-aged white male approximately six feet tall wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, tan boots, and a black full-face ski mask. The female victim, who is employed by a private firm, was able to escape and locate help.


2/27/10: Old Main Criminal Trespass/Criminal Mischief
Penn State University Police are investigating a Criminal Mischief/Criminal Trespass incident, which occurred between Feb. 27 at 10:24 p.m. and Feb. 28 at 3:33 a.m. in Old Main on the University Park campus. Several individuals entered the building after an unknown white male damaged the south door(s) and gained access. Police are looking to identify the individuals. 2/20/10: College Avenue Assault
Penn State University Police are investigating an assault that occurred on Saturday, February 20 at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the bus stop located by College Avenue and Allen Street.

A verbal altercation between a 23-year-old female victim and two male suspects broke out over the use of obscene language. One of the male suspects struck the victim across the mouth when she asked them to stop using obscene language. The blow caused injury to her facial area.

A 25-yeard-old male victim attempted to assist the female and the two male suspects assaulted him. The male victim was assaulted and knocked to the ground striking his head on a nearby bench. Centre Life Link Emergency Services transported both the female victim and the male victim to Mount Nittany Medical Center. The male victim was later life-flighted to Altoona Hospital Trauma Center due to the extent of his injuries. He is currently listed in stable condition.

Both male suspects fled the scene on foot when it was learned that someone called 911. The description of the male suspects is two college-aged white males, one wearing a white short-sleeved shirt.

2/15/10: Barnes & Noble Bookstore Retail Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a retail theft that occurred in the Barnes & Noble bookstore on February 15 between 10:00 a.m and 10:15 a.m. An unknown male entered the bookstore and stole an external hard drive valued at $150. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, 5' 10", 165 pounds, with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect was last seen wearing a maroon baseball hat, a blue zip-up sweatshirt, and light tan pants.

2/12/10: Innovation Park Maintenance Shed Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a burglary/theft that occurred at the Innovation Park Maintenance shed sometime between February 12 at 3:30 p.m. and February 15 at 07:15 a.m. Unknown individual(s) cut two locks and stole various items from inside two storage sheds. The items stolen were a tool box containing assorted tools, an air compressor with cables, various articles of clothing, and a 2008 Kubota RTV1100. The Kubota was later recovered in the vicinity of the Park Avenue entrance ramp to I-99 South. The highway security fence in that area was cut.

CASE SOLVED 2/3/10: Outreach Building Harassment
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a harassment that occurred outside the Outreach Building on Feb. 2 at 6:20 p.m. A female student was approached by an unknown male who engaged the female in casual conversation. The suspect shook the female's hand and refused to let go. A bystander saw the altercation and told the suspect to let go of the female. The suspect then left the area on foot. The suspect is described as a white male, over 45 years of age, medium height, medium build, with blue eyes, weighing 175-200 lbs., and having short balding blonde hair. The suspect was last seen wearing khaki pants and a polo shirt.

The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a simple assault that occurred in parking Lot 82, Geary Hall on Jan. 22, 2010 between 11:45 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Two male students were punched and hit by two unknown males. The suspects are described as follows:

9/20/09: Missing Penn State Student
Penn State University Police are searching for an 18-year-old Penn State student who was last seen at about 3 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 20) leaving a fraternity house on the University Park campus. Joseph Dado, a freshman, was wearing jeans, a yellow T-shirt and blue zipper sweatshirt with a hood when he was last seen leaving Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at 319 N. Burrowes Rd. to return to his residence hall room. He is a white male with brown eyes and brown hair. He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds. Police said he has not returned phone calls or e-mails since he was last seen.

On 8/06/09 at approximately 1:50 PM, it was reported to the Pennsylvania State University Police that a male followed behind a female as she walked on Shortlidge Road at the Life Sciences building and pointed a digital camera up under her legs. The male then cut over to the Chemistry Building, momentarily walking away from the female, then caught up to her again, getting behind her and taking more pictures. On Tuesday, July 14, 2009, between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM two unlocked offices were entered on the 5th floor of Ag Science and Industries Building. The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft incident that occurred on the third floor of Wagner Building sometime between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM on April 14, 2009. Individual(s) stole a student's laptop computer valued at $1,500.00.

5/13/09: Request for Assistance
The Pennsylvania State University Police are seeking community assistance in identifying a suspect who used another student's identification to sign out a digital camera at the Audio Visual Services Office in Willard Building on 5/1/09 at about 3:30 PM. The suspect is described as white male, college age, and about 5'10" tall. The below photographs are of the individual who used the card. The value of the loss is estimated at $1,200.

5/09-10/09: Pollock and South Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police have been investigating several incidents of theft from the Pollock and South Residence Hall areas that occurred during the spring move out, May 9-10, 2009. The actor(s) stole various personal items including laptop computers, a television, cash, mp3 players, and textbooks.The value of loss is estimated at $5,500.00.

5/02/09: Criminal Trespass
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a trespass incident that occurred in the second floor Simmons Hall female restroom on 5/2/09 at 9:10 PM. The unknown actor entered the women's restroom and viewed a female student as she showered. The actor was described as a white, college-aged male with light brown hair, "scruffy" facial hair and he was approximately 5'11" tall. He was wearing a blue THON hoodie and blue jeans.

4/25/09: Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred on the fourth floor of Bigler Hall sometime between 02:30 AM and 6:30 AM on April 25, 2009. Individual(s) removed and destroyed ceiling tiles from the hallway.

2/27/09: Hammond Building ­ Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police is investigating a Burglary/Theft incident that occurred in the Hammond Building sometime between February 27, 2009 at 12:30 PM and February 28, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Individual(s) stole a Dell laptop computer valued at $1,082.00.

2/02/09: Bennett Family Center Parking Lot – Hit and Run
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a hit and run incident that occurred in the Bennett Family Daycare Center parking lot on February 2, 2009 between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM. While backing out of a space, an unknown individual struck the rear bumper of a parked car causing damage to the bumper and breaking the rear tail light. The suspect vehicle is thought to be a blue SUV operated by a white male in his 20-30's with dark hair and trimmed beard.

1/30/09: Pinchot Hall – Aggravated Assault
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on Saturday, January 24, 2009 between 6:20pm and 6:30pm in the lobby of Pinchot Hall. Three unknown males wearing hoods, assaulted a male student.

1/21/09: Haller Hall – Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred in the elevator of Haller Hall sometime between 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM on January 13, 2009. Individual(s) used a Butane lighter to burn a smiley face on the ceiling of the elevator.

1/13/09: Stone Hall – Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a theft that occurred on the 1st floor of Stone Hall sometime between 2:00 AM and 9:00 AM on January 13, 2008. Individual(s) stole a folding ping pong table from the lobby.

The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a bike theft that occurred at the Penn Stater sometime between 9:15 PM and 9:45 PM on December 22, 2008. Individual(s) stole a brand new yellow bicycle valued at $300.

12/15/08: Old Main – Robbery/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a robbery/theft occurring Monday, December 15, 2008 at approximately 2:45 AM along the south-west sidewalk of Old Main. Two suspects, one of whom implying he had a handgun, forcibly stole an I-Pod from the victim and fled the area on foot.

12/02/08 between 1:30pm and 1:35 pm, a female student observed a male inside the women's restroom near room 102 Forum Building. The male was inside one of the bathroom stalls with a mirror lying on the floor. When confronted, the male walked northbound toward Stuckeman Building. The male was described as a white male, with a gray hoodie, black nylon pants, and white shoes.

11/29/08: Curtin Road Area – Open Lewdness and Disorderly Conduct
University Police are investigating two incidents that occurred near Pattee Library and the Forum Building.

11/29/08 at approximately midnight, a student reportedly observed a male exposing his genitalia near the bus stop along Curtin Road near Pattee Library. The male was lingering between the entrance of Pattee Library and the Curtin Road bus stop when he exposed himself to another student. When the student called for help, the actor ran south on Fraser Road. The male was described as having Asian facial features, wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and white shoes. The male was slender build, approximately 5'10".

The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a burglary/theft incident that occurred on the 5th floor of Tener Hall during the morning hours of 11/21/08. Individual(s) entered an unlocked residence hall room and stole a laptop computer valued at 1,400.00.

11/21/08: Mifflin Hall
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an Arson incident that occurred on the second floor of Mifflin Hall on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at approximately 10:55 PM. An unknown actor(s) burned items on a bulletin board and the sprinkler activated causing extensive water damage to several rooms on multiple floors.

11/21/08: Curtin Hall – Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Burglary/Theft incident that occurred on the sixth floor of Curtin Hall on Sunday, November 09, 2008 sometime in the early morning. Individual(s) entered an unsecured residence hall room and stole a laptop computer valued at $1,300.00.

The Pennsylvania State University Police continue to investigate several incidents of individual(s) igniting smoke bombs in the residence halls of University Park. The actor(s) have deployed three smoke bombs in Pinchot and Sproul Halls.

11/14/08: Paterno Library – Attempted Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating the attempted theft of library books from the Paterno Library. On November 14, 2008 at 5:56 PM the suspect removed the library id stickers from the textbooks and attempted to leave the library without signing out the books. 11/11/08: Buckhout Lab – Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred on the first floor of Buckhout Laboratory sometime between 6:20 PM and 6:35 PM on November 11, 2008. Individual(s) pulled the emergency pull shower station in the hallway causing extensive flooding. The damage to the building and equipment is valued at approximately $25,000.

10/23/08: Lot Brown E, Thompson Hall – Arson
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an Arson incident that occurred in parking lot Brown E by Thompson Hall on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at approximately 6:40 PM. An unknown actor threw a lit match into the dumpster and fled the area. The actor is described as a white male, 5'8" tall wearing a Northface vest and jeans.

10/21/08: Hamilton Hall – Criminal Trespass
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Trespass incident that occurred in the third floor Hamilton Hall female restroom on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at approximately 2:25 PM. The unknown male actor entered the women's restroom and viewed a female student as she showered. The actor was described as a thin, white, college-aged male with straight dark brown hair, approximately 5'07", weighing 140 lbs. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.

9/14/08: Penn State Golf Course – Criminal Mischief/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Trespass by Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief Incident that occurred at the Penn State Golf Course sometime between 8:00 PM Monday, September 22, 2008 and 7:00 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2008. The actor(s) drove a four wheel all terrain vehicle (ATV) on the golf course causing damage to the turf by hole number twelve. The amount of damage is estimated at $4,000.00. Due to information provided by the public, police recovered the ATV used in this incident, which had been reported stolen. The yellow ATV was found in the area of Corl Street and West College Avenue. Police are still seeking information on who may have stolen and/or operated the ATV.

9/14/08: Waste Water Treatment Plant – Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Burglary and Theft incident that occurred at the Waste Water Treatment Plant on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at approximately 2:04 AM. An unknown male entered a secured area and stole a utility vehicle which was driven around and then abandoned. The actor was a white male wearing a black t-shirt with white graphics and tan shorts.

8/28/08: Penn State Golf Course – Criminal Trespass/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Criminal Trespass and Theft incident that occurred at the Penn State Golf Course sometime between 11:00 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2008 and 6:50 AM Thursday, August 28, 2008. Unknown individual(s) entered into a secured facility and damaged two golf carts and drove another golf cart into a pond. The value of damage is not immediately known.

8/04/08: Beaver Hall – Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a series of Criminal Mischief incidents that have occurred throughout Beaver Hall since Monday, June 30, 2008. Unknown individual(s) wrote obscene graffiti on the walls and doors as well as damaged other property.

7/17/08: Intramural Building – Assault
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an Assault that transpired during a basketball pickup game in Gym 1 of the Intramural Building on Tuesday, 06 May 2008 at 5:45 p.m. The assault was captured on video. Police are looking to identify the individual pictured below.

The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Criminal Mischief that occurred on the 3rd floor of Simmons Hall sometime between 1:00 AM and 9:30 AM Saturday, 12 July 2008. Unknown individual(s) wrote obscene graffiti on the walls and doors.

5/26/08: Beam Building – Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Burglary and Theft incident that occurred sometime between 7:30 PM, Sunday, 25 May 2008 and 10:30 AM, Monday, 26 May 2008 at Beam Building. Multiple offices were entered and 20 laptop computers, mostly Dell, as well as other personal electronic items were stolen. The estimated value of loss is $45,000.00.

5/02/08: Hamilton Hall – Acts of Intolerance
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating several criminal acts of intolerance that have occurred in Hamilton Hall during the spring 2008 semester. These incidents include doors and boards being defaced with racial remarks and derogatory comments regarding sexual orientation.

4/26/08: Nittany Apartments – Criminal Trespass
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Criminal Trespass incident that occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 8:45 PM. An unknown male entered an unlocked residence in Nittany Apartments, spoke with an occupant and then left the area. The actor is described as a college aged white male, approximately 5'07", thin build, dark brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt and khaki shorts. University Police reminds all residents to make sure they lock their doors.

4/26/08: Patterson Building – Indecent Exposure
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating an Indecent Exposure incident that occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at approximately 2:22 AM. The actor is described as a college aged asian male, approximately 5'10", approximately 155 pounds, thin build, black hair, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

4/17/08: University Park Campus – Graffiti
The Pennsylvania State University Police have been investigating several related incidents of graffiti around the University Park campus. The actor(s) have defaced several interior building walls, elevators, bathroom stalls, dumpsters, and a water tower. Several of the graffiti incidents have occurred at the following locations: Stuart Hall, Findlay Commons, Redifer Commons, Carnegie Building, and Forum Building. 4/11/08: Womer Tract – Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Criminal Mischief incident that occurred at Womer Tract, in the area of Whitehall Road and Plainfield Drive in Ferguson Township, sometime between March 2008 and Monday, April 07, 2008 at 8:00 AM. The actor(s) shot numerous trees and fence posts with shotguns and handguns.

3/29/08: Beaver Hall – Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Burglary and Theft that occurred in Beaver Hall Saturday, March 29, 2008 sometime between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM. An unknown person(s) entered an unlocked room and stole the following items: a brown Louis Vuitton backpack, a brown Coach purse, a black Dooney and Bourke wristlet and a cream Dooney and Bourke wristlet. The value of the stolen items is $680.00.

3/28/08: Packer Hall – Theft/Criminal Mischief
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Theft and several Criminal Mischief incidents that occurred in Packer Hall at various times on Friday, March 28, 2008. An unknown person(s) broke a window, scattered trash multiple times in the stairwell of the building, and stole personal property. The value of the stolen items and damage is over $400.00.

3/28/08: Redifer Commons – Criminal Mischief (two incidents)
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating two incidents of Criminal Mischief that occurred on the ground floor of Redifer Commons. The first incident occurred on Saturday, March 01, 2008 at approximately 11:00 PM. The second incident occurred on Friday, March 21, 2008 between 1:45 AM and 5:20 AM. In both incidents several male actors damaged numerous ceiling tiles. Surveillance photos are below of some of the male actors.

1/23/08: Penn State Conference Center Hotel – Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Theft that occurred sometime between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Unknown person(s) removed a 12" miter saw valued at approximately $500.00.

1/20/08: Aschenfelter Multi Sports Facility – Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Theft that occurred sometime between 4:15 PM and 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2008, at the Aschenfelter Multi Sports Facility. Unknown person(s) removed various checks from an unattended duffel bag. Total value of loss is over $3,000.00.

12/10/07: Life Sciences Building – Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Theft incident that occurred sometime between Sunday, December 02, 2007 and Monday, December 03, 2007, at the Life Sciences Building. Unknown person(s) removed two maroon collection bags containing an undisclosed amount of US currency and checks belonging to the Harvest Christian Ministry and State College Korean Church. The collection bags have a yellow cross embroidered on the outside.

12/10/07: McElwain Hall – Burglary/Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating two incidents of Burglary / Theft that occurred sometime between October 04, 2007 and November 14, 2007, in McElwain Hall. Unknown person(s) removed clothing and a digital camera from a dorm room. The total value of items stolen is $425.00.

12/10/07: Hetzel Union Building – Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Theft that occurred sometime on Tuesday, December 04, 2007 between 8:10AM and 9:30PM, in the HUB. Unknown person(s) entered an unsecured locker and removed an mp3 player. The total value of loss is $250.00.

9/05/07: South Henderson Building – Burglary
Between the hours of 5:00 PM on September 4, 2007 and 7:00 PM on 5 August 2007 unknown person(s) entered several offices belonging to the Prevention Research Center located on the first floor of South Henderson Building and removed several items, including a Dell laptop computer and a Central Processing Unit for a Dell desktop computer valued at $2,700.00.

12/20/06: Agricultural Administration – Burglary
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Burglary and Theft, which occurred in the Agricultural Administration Building. The burglary occurred between Saturday, 09 December 2006 and Sunday, 10 December 2006. Several rooms on the second and third floors were forcibly entered. Approximately $4,600.00 worth of property was stolen, including computer equipment and money.

11/20/06: Penn State Golf Course – Trespass
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Trespass/Theft incident that occurred sometime between 6:30 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2006 and 7:00 AM, Monday, November 13, 2006, at the Penn State Golf Course. Unknown persons cut a chain link fence and drove four golf carts from the complex across the golf course. Two of the golf carts were damaged. Also, a five gallon plastic gasoline container was stolen from the complex.

9/28/06: Moore Building – Burglary
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Burglary that occurred in several rooms in the basement and on the third floor of Moore Building between Sunday, 24 September 2006 and Monday, 25 September 2006. A laptop computer and various office supplies were stolen from various offices. The perpetrators used force to enter secured rooms in the basement level. The value of the stolen property and damage is estimated at over $2,000.00. There were two suspicious middle-aged black males observed in the building during the night of 24 September 2006.

8/15/06: Exterior Beaver Hall – Robbery
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the early morning of Saturday, 15 July 2006. The victim's wallet was stolen by three males that approached him by Beaver Hall. The victim described the three suspects as black males, all approximately twenty years old, one approximately 5'08" with a heavy build and two approximately 5'10" with a thin build. The males got into a vehicle that was parked by Wolf Hall and fled the area. The value of the theft is approximately $325.00.

5/23/06: Historical Marker – Theft
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a Theft that occurred in parking lot Brown C, located south of Fenske Laboratory and east of Whitmore Laboratory, between Wednesday, 17 May 2006 and Monday, 22 May 2006. A historical marker for Old Beaver Field was stolen. Below are two pictures of the historical marker. The value of the stolen property is estimated at over $1,500.00.

     

4/18/06: North Chambers – Burglary
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating two incidents that occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 11, 2006. The first incident occurred in Cooper Hall, at approximately 4:50 am. An unknown male entered an unsecured residence hall room in Cooper Hall. While in the room, the male threatened the resident of the room. The male fled the area when confronted by the resident. At approximately 5:20 am, a similar incident occurred in Haller Hall. An unknown male entered an unsecured residence hall room. While in the room, the male threatened the resident of the room and stole some money from the victim's wallet. The male fled the area prior to the arrival of the University Police. The suspect in these incidents is a white male with an average build who was reportedly wearing a black t-shirt and a black hat or ball cap.

4/10/06: Pinchot Hall – Arson
The Pennsylvania State University Police are investigating a fire that was started in an elevator in Pinchot Hall on Sunday, 02 April 2006, at approximately 04:58 AM. The damage is estimated at over $1,000.00.

1/10/06: IST Building – Burglary
University Police are investigating the theft of computer equipment from the IST Building. The burglary took place between Friday November 18, 2005 and Sunday November 20, 2005. Three IBM X Series computer servers (black), Cisco routers (blue) and a Cisco computer switch (blue) valued at $7,750.00 were removed from room 202 between the listed time frame.

11/15/05: Agricultural Administration Building – Burglary
On 11/14/05, the University Police began an investigation into a Burglary and Theft, which occurred in the Agricultural Administration Building. The burglary occurred between 5:00 PM on 11/11/05 and 8:00 AM on 11/14/05. Unknown actor(s) entered a secured room and forcefully accessed a safe.

The safe contained cash and donations to the United Way.

5/01/05: Indecent Exposures
Since May of 2005, Penn State University Police have investigated three incidents of Open Lewdness and Indecent Exposure at various locations across University Park Campus. The incidents have occurred during daylight hours. Locations of the incidents include the west sidewalk of Fenske Building, the Jordan East parking lot and the basement of South Henderson. The male has been described as being white, 5' 10" with short, light colored hair. He has been described as having a goatee and a pot belly. The University Police wish to remind everyone to stay alert for this type of activity.

12/14/04: Penn State Golf Course – Rape
The Penn State University Police would like to announce a significant lead in the ongoing investigation of a rape that occurred on the Penn State University Blue Golf Course on July 27, 2000 and are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect. University Police and the Oakland County Sheriff's Department in Pontiac, Michigan have made a connection between the rape on the Penn State golf course and one that occurred on the Twin Lakes Golf Course in Oakland, Michigan on September 6, 1999. As a result of evidence being submitted by the two departments, a DNA match was made which indicated that the same individual was involved in both incidents. The suspect was also described as being either Hispanic or of Italian ethnicity and approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. University Police and Michigan authorities each had a composite done of their suspect.
