Map and Locations

The Penn State University Police provides all law enforcement and security services to the University Park campus. We employ:

  • 51 full-time armed officers

  • 2 traffic and parking officers

  • 6 police dispatcher/recorders

  • Approximately 150 students as auxiliary officers and escorts
  • The department provides 24-hour patrol services to the campus and University-owned properties year round. The University Police is governed by a state statute that gives our officers the same authority as municipal police officers.

    University Police is also responsible for parking enforcement and traffic control. Officers have first-aid training as Emergency Responders and provide first rescue response and fire suppression services to the campus. To increase interaction with the public, the University Police maintains a bicycle patrol unitas well as a canine unit.

    Electric Police Motorcycles Arrive on Campus
    University Police revealed the newest additions to its fleet—two electrically powered motorcycles. The new bikes require no gasoline, are almost completely silent, and have less than 10 moving parts.
